New Shinny Bits attached, such as they are. Pay not attention to the rats next of kevlar and reflective tape that was a hasty temporary solution. Both will be either redone on going. I think I want to redo the reflective tape because the cracking of the intake tube from heat is a real thing (this is my 2nd). I think I will also tape my airbox to see if it helps. Im guessing no.
New exhaust heat shields. Hopefully this will keep my AC on longer and cooler (the AC line runs right past the headers) as well as keep the intake temps down. I had the head rebuilt years ago and the shop that did it took them off saying that they just crack and you don’t want them. I’ve come to realize I 100% want them.

I’d love to have the headers ceramic coated and the heat shields polished.

Yeah, Witsend had his shields and headers coated. I guess it helps a lot.

that’s a show vehicle that’s also a business expense write-off. i’ll be surprised if that isn’t the best looking 80 series in north america by the time he’s done.
i’ll go back to my average joe dreams of just coating the headers.
but i am curious if you see any benefit from this!

So far so good. My Intake temps are a little lower and my underhood temps by feel are better.

Well those guys can suck it, it means New Shinny Bits now.
More seriously, thats an interesting tidbit of history to know. Still a lot of hard feelings for the term I might guess.
